A Family Tradition: Climbing Mount Manghilao

Have you ever climbed a mountain that tested your limits but rewarded you with breathtaking views? Today, I'm sharing a story about a special climb that has become a cherished family tradition, a journey that reminds us of the power of faith and the beauty of nature.

Mount Manghilao in Danao City holds a special place in our family's heart. It's a tradition we've held for years, making the climb at least once a year. It all started back in 2004, 2005, or 2006 when my dad got accepted into his dream job. We believe the big cross on the top of Mount Manghilao played a role in granting our prayers, so we've dedicated a day each year to pay our respects and express our gratitude.

The climb isn't easy. Mount Manghilao is a challenging trek, with rocky terrain and no clear path. It's a test of strength and endurance, especially as you navigate the sharp rocks and feel the cold air bite at your lungs. But the journey is always worth it.

Year after year, we face the climb together as a family, fueled by our unwavering faith and determination. The view from the summit is breathtaking, rewarding our hard work with panoramic vistas. We see the sun bathe the landscape in golden light, taking in the beauty of Carmen, Danao, and even Cebu City in the distance. From the top, we can see the towering buildings of Cebu City, a reminder of how far we've come. And of course, the majestic Mount Manghilao itself is a sight to behold.

This annual climb is more than just a physical challenge; it's a testament to our family's bond and our belief in the power of faith. It's a journey that reminds us of our blessings and the importance of perseverance.
