2020 and 2021 were very lean years, from a "selling art" perspective.
As I have mentioned a few times, I substantially depend on selling Alchemy Stones at "outside events" where I can meet potential buyers in person and they can touch, pick up and look at the painted rocks, in person.
Without that avenue, our annual sales have been down by about 80% as the rocks really don't seem to "translate well" in terms of online sales. We keep trying, but the results are paltry.
Anyway, even though "public events" in the state of Washington still look a bit dodgy (in terms of whether or not they will actually be held) we decided to start filling the 2022 schedule... after all, the worst that can happen is that everything will get canceled, for a 3rd successive year.
Of course, the old problem is that we end up "being out the money" from now till the actual event.
So anyway, the first thing we have conformed for this year (just got notified that we had been accepted as a vendor) is going to be Departure Fest NW in early August.
We are returning to music and "alternative" festivals this year, because they have always been pretty good to us in the past.
Interestingly enough, Music Festivals, UFO/Paranormal events and such have always done much better for us than conventional "Arts and Crafts" events. Usually, it seems like people who commit to go and spend several days at a conference or festival are far more open to supporting vendors than people who go to arts events... which is far more "spectator venues" where people ask about art technique and artists find inspiration (aka "steal your designs") by looking at other artists' work.
Anyway, the first $200 vendor deposit is out the door, and we're excited for the possibility that we might be participating!

Because I am trying to make some semblance of income — a part time living, even — I now add this footer to all my posts, in the hope that someone, somewhere, might decide to take a further look at my work, and perhaps consider supporting independent art.
Thank you, in advance, for your consideration and support!
