2D Wall Art: Animals (Low Poly)

Hello dear Hive 3D printing community,

In my first post in this community I presented a print that was a printed wall art in the shape of a dragon. I really liked they way it turned out, so I searched for more nice designs that could potentially look good on a white wall.
I also like how these models are fairly easy to print, with no supports being needed, while highlighting the ability of a normal 3D printer to turn into an artist with the precision of a computer.

I tried first printing them with a layer height of 0.2mm just to be sure it looks good, but then I switched to 0.3mm. Since it is only the front that matters for the looks, I think the layer height really doesn't matter.

Though I have one important advice to give when printing these more complex first layers: clean your print sheet carefully! If it is not completly clean the printer might manage to do most lines, but eventually some parts will not stick to the sheet and you will have to scratch everything off and start again. Once you got that, it is actually pretty easy and fun to watch printing.

First off is this reindeer, which I also gifted to my mother as a christmas present. I think she found a nice place for it:

Second is a fox. It was really fascinating to see the printer draw the lines of the first layer:

This is how it turned out in the end:

Third up is a phoenix, which looks like its rising from the ashes:

And last but not least, an elephant that was actually a "failed" print, because the nozzle was clogged halfway through the print. But because it was just not as thick as it should have been, regardless I hung it up in my room next to my light switch and I think you cannot really see it was a fail:

Happy printing ! 😄
