There are hundreds of ways to deal with stress. Some say we need to reduce it and on the other hand some say we need to cope with it. I think both are correct in their own way. And to do so, meditation can be one of the mechanisms.
Meditation, mechanism; these words sound a little critical. There are still some barriers in our minds to take meditation as a way of life. Because we think we need to find a quiet place, at least half an hour to sit down for a session, do it regularly and so on.
So let's break down the words and make it simple!
Be mindful, stay focused, center your mind and all this will help you to be present. Thus you will worry less about the future and will block your useless thoughts about the past.
I guess now it sounds simple.
There's no argument that a complete & regular meditation practice can lead to towards having improved mental health. More or less we all know how much benefits meditation can bring in life. Now if we focus specifically on how it works as a stress reliever, there are actually many.
Let's see...
Meditation can produce a deep state of relaxation. It connects our mind and body. And thus increase happiness, well-Being, and health. That means we will automatically live in a happy state of mind with less anxiety. We will be able to focus on more positive things, we will be able to control the thoughts that jamming our mind and causing stress.
So you see, the process is automatic and nothing complicated. Just give it some time and you will be able to cope with stress in a better way!
