WHEN YOUR COFFEE MATCHES YOUR TILES

I'm one of those people that see patterns everywhere. I used to point them out to people but I stopped doing it so much since sometimes people may think I'm crazy haha. But, seriously, I constantly see patterns; lines, shapes, fractals, numbers and colours. I'd randomly pick up my phone to see that it was 11:11am 11º on the 11/11. I'd make a celebratory face, now privately haha, and record the moment in my head.

Sometimes I'd spot the shape of a cloud in the sky and see the same exact shape in an oil stain on the pavement and make a little celebratory face and rejoice privately at spotting the cosmic low-probability event. Sometimes my coffee would match my floor tiles. Nowadays, if I can, I'd take a photo to record the event.

The truth is that we are all fine-tuned to see pattern. It's part of our survival system. We are supposed to be able to spot something happening unnaturally. Nature is random by default. Usually any time of order or pattern that starts to develop denotes some kind of intelligence or organising force. This said force may be friend or foe. Either way, we need to be aware of said entity, especially if it's a foe.

Some of us are more in tune with this stuff than others. I believe people that do things like street photography eventually train themselves to spot these events. Some of it is totally random, of course, but most of it isn't. Basically natural things are associated with lower probabilities while intelligently influenced things are higher probability. It's kind of a weird thing to think about, but I do this all the time. 😂

Peace & Love,

Adé
