THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF JEAN PIAGET MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE TRAINING OF ALL TEACHERS

Teachers must be informed at all times, just as a doctor is constantly updated for the various diseases that arise and new updates for it, so the teacher must also be updated. However, we have experiences of very interesting pedagogues that have never gone down in history because they are concrete and visionary to the possible situations that arise in the educational field and that were obviously investigated and tested in depth, as is the case of the pedagogue Jean Piaget, teacher That this theory has not been internalized in my opinion, I think I should make him deepen it and in turn practice it with his good gifts as a teacher because everything will depend on the interest of the child and his learning pace. I have interacted with many teachers who even say in his teaching process - "if you piaget with me, who against me" because really with this slogan a teacher is influencing you in his way of teaching.

In this regard, Ignacio Estrada said the following
"If a child can't learn the way we teach them, maybe we should teach them the way they learn."
Original phrase by Rita Dunn, attributed to Ignacio Estrada, Director of Grant Administration to the Gordon Foundation

Context that specifies the importance of the child's interest, that is, what is essential for the child to accommodate their learning

¿WHY JEAN PIAGET'S CONTRIBUTIONS SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN ALL TEACHER TRAINING?

The pedagogy in Piaget says that it is the first step or the first task that the educator must use to adapt the student in a learning situation, building the child's interest so that he can understand and act through a method or instrument, in the pedagogy that Piaget uses, it can be said that there is an explanation and a series of mechanisms such as assimilation and accommodation since they allow the child to restructure through experience since through this he can do formal and concrete operations.

BUILD THE CHILD'S INTEREST

The key of the teacher in the classroom or outside of it is in the interest of the students since obviously the interest of the child is coupled with multiple factors that the teacher must take into account for the performance of their learning.

It should be taken into account that there are multiple factors related to the student's disposition that contribute to learning: cognitive processes, emotions, motivation, interests and commitment to learning. Likewise, there are others related to the social environment and the mediating activity of teachers. The one and the other act in close interaction. However, and although it is not usually recognized in this way in most current texts, I consider that interest is the main entrance to learning, since through it the motivation and emotions of the learner are promoted, which together with the dynamization cognitive processes, make active engagement with learning possible. An interest, it is necessary to repeat it, that can be initiated or strengthened by the sensitivity and the methodology used by the teachers.

It must be clear that the teacher will always be inspired to awaken the interest of their students in their educational context

Piaget also insists on his relevant theory on the assimilation and accommodation of the child where learning is a process that only makes sense in situations of change. For this reason, learning is partly knowing how to adapt to these developments. This psychologist explains the dynamics of adaptation through two essential processes that should never go unnoticed by the teacher: assimilation and accommodation.

  1. Assimilation. Assimilation refers to the way an organism deals with an external stimulus based on its present organizational laws. According to this principle of adaptation in learning, external stimuli, ideas or objects are always assimilated by some pre-existing mental scheme in the individual.

In this sense, the environment and mental experience that children present with respect to their environment is very important, where teachers must take into consideration and interest everything related to the life environment of their students with the intention of supporting their interests and understanding. some data to integrate it to previous knowledge or to the incorporation of certain components of their learning

  1. Accommodation. Accommodation, on the other hand, involves a modification in the present organization in response to the demands of the environment. Wherever there are new stimuli that compromise too much the internal coherence of the scheme, there is accommodation. It is a process opposed to assimilation.

However, it must be taken into account that accommodation is more complex because it is opposed to assimilation, because in this sense students can modify their cognitive processes to incorporate them into new objects, they bring their own structural schemes but with the help of the teacher it is It is necessary to modify them due to the demands that society infers every day and so that they can incorporate new knowledge in their learning and can adapt to new stimuli
