It's 9 goals in two games for Spurs and 4 wins in a row now as Spurs cement their place in 4th in the premiership. Losses for Woolwich today to lowly Brighton was a major shock earlier. Everton managed to grind out a win United as well leaving Spurs with work to do against Villa. Spurs scored on the 3rd minute when a Kane shot deflected and ended up on Sonny's left side. He put in away with his weaker left foot. But what a finish. But it wasn't all smooth sailing as Villa went on the attack for the rest of the first half. It was clear that Stevie G had told his players to leave a few marks on our boys as they disrupted play to stop Spurs having any sort of possession. Special middle finger goes to Ashley Young who came on and took out Kane in his first tackle. It was bad form and should not have happened. A couple of late tackles left Matt Doherty injured. (For the people that call the guy Matt Docherty, he doesn't have a "c" in his name lads.)
So basically we got roughed up for 30 minutes and Loris saved our bacon on a number of occasions. I always say about Hugo. He made the odd mistake such as Newcastle last week but he wins more games for us than loses. We could have been 3 - 1 down or even 4 - 1 down today if Danny Ings had turned up. But thankfully he did not. I could not wait until half time because I knew Conte would sort it out at half time.
We came out a different team and the game opening up. Kulusevski scored a great goal on the 50th minutes. Villa's heads dipped which left Sonny go on the rampage to get another 2 goals. And that was that. It was never a 0 - 4 game but Spurs cannot stop scoring at the moment. The attacking 3 are on fire and think about it that Kane has not scored now in the last two games where we scored nine. He assisted however making him one of the best number 10's in the premiership. Oh and he is the best number nine also. The player most like Kane scored a hat trick against Chelsea the other night. Karim is probably the closest kind of player to Kane.
It was interesting that Conte made no changes to his team that beat Newcastle 5 -1 last week even though he had Reggy and Sessengon back from injury. Doherty went off injured and was seen after the game in a leg brace which is slightly worrying.
So Spurs have Brighton next Saturday at 12.30. We already beat these boys twice already in the league and cup so hopefully we can brush them aside with Brentford and Leicester after them. Spurs need to be winning these games as they have Liverpool and Arsenal yet to play. Apart from these two Leicester are the only other team that will be a danger but the way football is nowadays you can never tell. Every game cannot be taken for granted. Take today for example. Man City play Liverpool in the league decider apparently. Liverpool still have to play us so even if Liverpool beat City tomorrow they are not guaranteed the league.
The Spurs defence today was incredible. The three centre halves deserve some praise. Kane and Sonny always get the MOTM but Dier and Davies have really played well since Conte has come in. Romero calms Dier down I think and makes him a better player. How Tyrone Mings gets the nod over Dier for England I do not know but that's none of my business. I was listening to a few Spurs podcasts and they always say Davies is a squad player and we need a new left sided Centre Half. We may need cover in this position but Davies has made this his own now and he has a great attitude and that's half the battle for Conte. I think Davies's position may not be easily obtained as we would expect.

I also think that Skipp will find it hard to get back into the team with the two Central midfielders complimenting each other so well.
So who are out the door in the summer?? Well first of all I would say Doherty is staying. Royal and Reggy will go. I think Winks will be sold. I also think Moura and Bergwijn will be gone.
We will get money for Los Celso because he is playing out of his skin in Spain. Thank god. Good riddence. Ndombele scored against the Hammers during the week but the French media have his card marked already and are criticising his performances. He will be back at Spurs come summer and we will have to put him in the bargain basement to get rid I imagine unless PSG come in for him. Gollini will go and Harvey White as well I expect. Sanchez will be sold on so Paradici will be a busy man this summer. Who we bring in is anyones guess. Conte is looking for a number 10 to help Kane become an out and out number 9 rather than his current 9 + 10 role. Eriksen coming back is not beyond the realms of possibility. Dybala has been rumoured but I'm not sure would he fit into Contes team.
Whatever it will be , it will be an exciting 8 weeks ahead as the worlds most famous soap opera plays out.
