Liar liar no one will believe you...
Is a new child who sets the place on fire by saying becoming our superhero?
What made me ask this question is that I watched the 2022 film Firestarter. I had the feeling that the film, which started with the image of a newborn baby, would be quite cute, loving and romantic, but the fact that the baby was born with special powers and set the place on fire after a few minutes was like a harbinger of horror.
It is inevitable that the child of a mother and father with special powers will have more special powers. As my father said when he compared me to my mother; the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
My first thought immediately after watching the film Firestarter was to wonder when the sequel would be. It was as if it was heralded at the end of the film that this was the beginning and the sequel would come.
I have noticed that some of the films we watch expand people's vocabulary and help us to better understand some scientific terms. In the film The Beginning, while questioning the possibility of dreams within dreams, we saw that by delving into the lower layers of dreams, an idea placed in the subconscious can flourish and the person can be guided in real life.
In the film Firestarter, creating a nuclear explosion force using only mind power can end the production and testing of nuclear weapons because the mind itself already creates a nuclear effect. I smile when I think that such a power is real because I know that it would be both good and bad news.
In the meantime, the cessation of production or testing of nuclear weapons was only an irony.
In fact, I am not far from the idea that other minds can be controlled with the mind and that objects can be moved by the power of the mind alone without any physical connection. I had read different articles, watched videos and films on this subject. In this sense, watching the film Firestarter was like killing two birds with one stone for me.
In the film, while the father and daughter could connect with each other through telepathy, they could also move objects and give them the power of heat (fire, explosion) through telekinesis. It is a very interesting film and I was more interested in the scientific aspect. The reason why I am already curious about the sequel is that Charlie, the girl in the film, is still a child and as she grows up, her powers develop with her.
When you do research about some supernatural events and then watch a film close to the supernatural event, you enjoy watching the film more. I understood this when I watched the film called astral when I was interested in astral travel and researched.
Astral travelling, telepathy, telekinesis are all functions performed with the mind. Astral travelling is the process of mentally leaving the body while the body is stationary and travelling with the help of the astral body, where it is possible to see even dead people, including extraterrestrials. At least it has not yet been sufficiently scientifically proven. Telepathy is to mentally connect and talk to each other, and telekinesis is to move objects with the help of the mind. It is really enjoyable to watch all these in any film.
I would like to end my article by sharing two of my favourite scenes in the film. The view of the human drowning himself with the command "forget to breathe" after the mentally established bond was a bit funny.
And a 9-10 year old boy riding a bicycle to the rescue operation was a bit of a grinning moment in the film, considering what he could do. I think the bicycle scene should have been removed from the film.
If you are interested in such events that have not yet been scientifically proven, but there are serious findings that they exist, you should definitely watch the film Firestarter. I think those who love superhero films may be interested in the film. In fact, it was one of the films that could be watched without thinking.
