In this post, I'm showing you an incredibly cool local weekend market in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I’ve combined experiences from two separate weekends into this single post. One weekend, I visited with two friends and my boyfriend, and on another, I was accompanied by my sexy friend, Napa. COCONUT MARKET - This market is easily one of my favorites in Chiang Mai. Another top pick of mine is the Jing Jai Market, this one offers a more nature-centric ambiance.

If it’s your first time visiting this market, prepare to be amazed. I typically spend my time snacking, hanging out, enjoying some live music, and grabbing a refreshing drink or two. What makes this market exceptionally unique is its location within a coconut plantation. Picture this, a canal (I don't know what it's called O.o) weaving between rows of coconut trees, with seats and tables scattered all around. You can pick up food from various stalls and enjoy it beneath any coconut tree. It’s a serene experience—chilling and eating over the weekend with live music playing in the background, especially when shared with friends.

One of my friends, Napa, turned heads with her vibrant yellow dress. I think that's a bit funny but yes, cute. Today’s food spotlight is on a watermelon stall that offers scoops of watermelon, topped with dried fish and sugar, the delicacies served in Thailand’s historic palaces. They also whip up a watermelon slush made from large chunks of watermelon blended to perfection and poured over ice, a simple yet refreshing treat that captures the essence of the fruit.
I also sampled some soft-serve ice cream, which looked appealing with its floral garnish, though the taste was just decent.
Most importantly, the food here is priced reasonably since it’s sold directly by the locals, and it always feels good to support the community. If you ever find yourself in Chiang Mai for a weekend, I highly recommend this market. Its photogenic and sure a delightful experience.
