Boxing Day Morning Food Extravaganza!

Had a very peaceful and special Christmas! My mom came down and that was really good for her. Nice to get together in this cold weather. We had some moose roast we could have had instead of turkey..it's what my mom wanted. I was grateful when we were able to make some classic turkey soup! That's how we woke up on Boxing Day!

I made some special porridge for mom that morning. She was concerned about eating enough so I remembered that I like to stir in an egg into the porridge! It beefs it it up well and tastes good.

I put oats, sunny boy cereal, cornmeal, currents and raisins in the porridge with a dash of salt, plus the egg!

I had to make some coffee that morning too!

We put lots of good vegetables in the soup and it turned out great! We made broth from the bones, cooking them about 38 hours.

I was joking around a bit calling this food extravagant, it is pilgrim food. The vibe around the kitchen and table did feel extra special so in that way I am not joking! My mom is in the city and can feel alone, so it was great she came down for a few days. We were able to relax. Helped her get more warm clothes, some snow pants and something to go around the head and neck. It made for a perfect time and we did have our share of chocolate as well.

I made a video of the kitchen cookery
