We haven't had fish for quite a while now, and today was the perfect day to order some and so My father went to the market and bought us some raw fish. And we decided to do our homemade curry this time.
First of all, add Turmeric and salt to taste. We don't marinade the fish much here.
Now, we fry the fish until its fully cooked.
In the meanwhile I picked up some fresh mint from my father's small gardening area in our rooftop.
After I came back, me and my mom prepared alot of masalas.
Those include:
Ginger and galric
Poppy Seed
Mustard seeds
Onions, bay leaf and Black jeera
You can use the oil leftover from frying the fish, just be sure to not fry the bitter part of the fish in the oil as the oil will also get bitter.
Put the onion, bay leaf and black jeera first and stir fry until onion gets brown.
Once onion is brown, add ginger and garlic paste, chili powder and some turmeric.
Let it cook a bit and add tomato paste. And cook it until the masala is kind of dry.
Then grind the mustard and poppy seeds, put it on top of the masala and cover for 5 minutes.
After the masala is cooked, add water and the some fried potatoes.
Then add the fish, cover for some more time. garnish with coriander leaves and enjoy!
We also decided to grill some fish and vegetables in our oven, With a simple tikka masala.
