When my family is looking for something to dip their tortilla chip into I know it's time to whip up some homemade salsa. The end result will vary depending on what ingredients I have on hand, but when the blender has finished spinning my family knows their taste buds will be satisfied.
On this day we had gotten a fresh bunch of cilantro and I was keen to make sure the taste would come through which is why this day's salsa is more green than red. Here is a basic ingredient list:
• Tomatoes (any kind)
• Onion (any kind although I am fond of yellow and white onion)
• Garlic (fresh cloves taste the best, but I've been known to use a dash of garlic powder when fresh was not available)
• Hot Pepper (Piquín or Serrano or Jalapeño, or insert your favorite)
• Lime Juice
• Salt (to taste)
Add ingredients to a blender. Turn on blender. Pour mix into a bowl. Enjoy!
