I would like to finish most of my vegetables before going shopping for food. So, I still have a fair size head of cabbage and raw frozen minced beef in the freezer from previous cooking. I decided to cook them together and come up with my own recipe for cabbage with minced meat. They go really well together and the taste compliments each other. And what not to love to add some colors, I added carrots in julienne cut. That way, it’s more pleasing in the eyes for it’s color and gives extra nutrition for the dish, the dish is packed with vitamins, antioxidants and proteins.
Without much further ado, here is the recipe.
Ingredients
Onion
Garlic
Cabbage, shredded
Carrot, julienne cut
Minced beef, 200gm
Oyster sauce, 3 tbsp
Garlic powder, 1/4 tsp, optional
Onion powder, 1/4 tsp, optional
Salt
Pepper, ground
Preparations
Heat the pan and add enough oil, Saute onion and garlic until fragrant.
Drop in the minced beef and cook until slightly brown.
Add the oyster sauce, garlic and onion powder, if using. Cook for 10 - 15 minutes. Reduce the heat to medium low and cover with a lid.
Add the carrot and stir well to combine.
Then add the cabbage and cook for 5 minutes.
Adjust your seasoning with salt and pepper.
It's a delicious and simple healthy recipe that is worth a try. It makes the bland cabbage interesting. It will surprise you how delightful sauteed cabbage can be.
