Hello foodie bee hivers!
Every new year it's a tradition to have 12 round fruits for prosperity all year round but this new year we didn't follow this, instead we bought those fruits we really love to eat. I guess it's being practical 'cause if you buy a fruit that is not wanted by many it may wilt or rot.
Our prosperity bowl wishing for a peaceful and prosperous year. It consist of rice, 12 eggs, 12 bills wrapped in red ribbon, 12 golden choco coins, 12 bay leaves, angpao with money inside and apple at the center for peace and harmony inside the house. The rabbit is additional topper given by our friend and it looks good there.
My homemade new year cake, vanilla chiffon with whipped cream.
Biko, made of steamed glutinous rice the cooked together in coconut cream and sugar then topped with Palyat.
Maja Blanca; mixture of cornstarch, sugar, cream of corn, coconut cream, evap milk, condensed milk, vanilla extract, water and cheese.
Our beverages; Sodas, flavored beer, wines, canned juices and sojus.
Pansit for long life.
All time favorite pinoy-style spaghetti.
Inihaw na Tilapia stuffed with tomato, onion, ginger and seasonings (Grilled Fish).
Pork Barbeque, it is so tender and juicy.
Menudo, I guess you are familiar with these since I posted a recipe here before. It is a stew made of pork, liver, hotdog, carrots, potatoes cooked with tomato sauce and paste.
Once again, happy new year from our family to yours!
In my opinion, no matter what your beliefs regarding the traditions during new year it will only happen if we ourselves with work and pray for it. Even if there is no food at the table right now if we get through this hardship sooner or later that table will surely be full. May be all be healthy, productive, forgiving, more loving and have a peace of mind!
See you on my next blog! Mabuhay!
