Soto is a typical food from Indonesia. Because there are many tribes in Indonesia, Soto is also one of the favorite foods in this country. There are various kinds of Soto in Indonesia and all of them have different ingredients, spices, and presentation according to their respective regions and ethnic groups, there are soto that have coconut milk sauce and there are soto that only use broth. Soto also consists of various choices, there are soto made from mushrooms, beef and chicken.
Of all the types of Soto that I will make is a typical Soto from my area, namely Medan City. Soto Medan consists of a mixture of potatoes, carrots, bean sprouts, shredded chicken, and is doused with coconut milk broth which is very fragrant and very delicious because it is rich in spices and Of course you don't need MSG to make this dish delicious. But now I will make Soto from chicken feet because compared to the chicken meat, my family and I prefer the chicken feet, it has a different sensation when we enjoy it.
Milled Material :
1. teaspoon white pepper
2. 3 cloves of red onion
3. 2 cloves of garlic
4. 2 pecans
5. 2 Cardamom seeds
6. 4 cloves
7. 1 piece of Lawang flower
8. 1 Tomato
Necessary materials :
1. 500 grams of fresh chicken feet
2. 200 grams Potato, diced
3. 50 grams of carrots, diced or according to taste
4. 100 grams of bean sprouts
5. 1 Liter Coconut milk
6. 2 pieces of kaffir lime leaves so that the soup smells good
7. 1 small stick Cinnamon
8. 1 stalk of pre and celery leaves that have been thinly sliced
9. 1 medium size tomato
10. teaspoon turmeric powder
How to make :
- Heat vegetable oil for frying
- After it's hot, stir-fry the ground spices
- Mix cinnamon, ground turmeric, ground pepper, and kaffir lime leaves. Saute until fragrant
- Once fragrant, add the chicken feet and stir-fry until tender
- After the claws are tender, add the potatoes and carrots, stir-fry again until all the ingredients are completely cooked, and add a little coconut milk so it doesn't dry out.
- After all the ingredients are cooked, mix the coconut milk
- And after the coconut milk has slightly boiled, add the bean sprouts, sliced tomatoes, and pre and celery leaves.
- Stir again so that the coconut milk doesn't break and the coconut milk is cooked perfectly
- Serve the soup with a sprinkling of fried onions to make it more fragrant and appetizing
