How’s it going Hive? This is one of those nights that I should be going to sleep, but instead I’m just starting a blog post. Apple had a Mac event a couple of weeks ago and I sat by waiting for the announcement of a 14” MacBook Pro. It came, and I ordered mine the same day. It’s called, “Taking profits”, and I haven’t done much of that over the last few months. This is my first Hive blog on the new M1 Max MacBook Pro. Probably overkill for casual blogging, but I’ll need this power when I get back to working on Dark Pinup • Act Two with @facingsofficial.
Life has been good. I’ve been eating better. I’ve been kickboxing for the last four months, and I’ve been making time for creativity with a reduced schedule of meetings for work. With some of that downtime, I went back to make a few more edits of two friends of mine that hired me ages ago for Best Friends Day. They had a shoot in mind and they entrusted me with bringing these photos to life. We started the shoot at a salon, then made our way to @caffetto in uptown for a few photos in the basement by the pinball machines.
This was one of only a few shoots I’ve done over the last couple of months. @facingsofficial work has really absorbed the time, but I’ve been making a living wage for the first time in my life, so I’m not complaining. I wondered if I would lose my touch, but it comes back to me the moment I’m behind the camera. The shots taken in the @caffetto basement by the pin ball machines, I’m especially fond of. My dark pinup, low diegetic lighting signature approach to photography is still in tact, and I’m grateful for that.
This entire week, I’ll be working on organizing and curated photos for Dark Pinup • Act Two. We at @facingsofficial will be releasing this set on the WAX blockchain at the end of November. Between the time I’m spending on that, I’ll be looking ahead to a project I’ll be working on with @swarddraws beginning at the end of 2021 and taking us in to the New Year. More on that soon. Some drawing and illustration that unfortunately I won’t be able share because of MNDA’s, but big things coming soon!
