Smartphone photography-2024. Part 7

And so, I got to the smartphones, sorted them, chose the most interesting ones in my opinion and decided to publish them. Since the spring of this year, I have not shown pictures from my phone.

The frequency of smartphone photography has never been led as a separate creative wave.

It's like a sub-frequency, which from time to time manifests itself either stronger or weaker.

And it has always been parallel and independent of the main creative wave.

Although it may depend on it: if I'm on the reportage wave, then the frames on the smartphone are appropriate.

If I'm on the street, I can also see the street through my smartphone camera.

Well, you get it...if the dugouts, then...

For some reason, under smartphones, I always want to talk about the topic: what if such a device had fallen into my hands in the past, when there was still a film era?

Or I always want to compare my smartphone with a film photo.

Only once did I come close to comparing this gadget with a professional SLR camera.

But that was four years ago!

Now I have another smartphone – Samsung S23, instead of S10.

And It shoots much better, although the telephoto lens is still not implemented properly in it.

But they upgrade the raw – now you can shoot at long exposures from a tripod and get photos almost like on a DSLR!

Perhaps it's time to make another comparison with a "real" camera.

But it will still be different worlds, because their physics is very different.

Only wide and standard viewing angles can be compared.

Sometimes I want the same infinitely huge depth of field on a SLR camera, where it is impossible to achieve due to the size of the matrix.

By the way, some nuances are comprehended after many years.

For example, that shooting with the hands of a smartphone is not a shutter speed of four seconds, but four separate frames, which are then stitched into one.

Yes, I didn't know that for a long time! This is a kind of bracketing, where shots are taken with different exposures. But there is also a real long exposure.
