Moonlit night over a shallow river

The dry second half of summer brought its consequences – the river became so shallow that you can walk along the banks. The Vologda River has overgrown marshy banks that are difficult to cross even in summer.

Although the bottom is rocky, but the silt and grassy substrate make it impossible to walk without boots.

Even though the water had receded and the shore was bare, in places I fell into thick mud in my boots.

The springs bursting from the banks are to blame for everything.

The purpose of the walk was to take documentary landscape pictures.

Such a natural rarity must certainly be captured!

In a couple of places, it felt like I was standing in the middle of the river, and a couple of steps to the other side.

I walked only a small part of the shore in the center on one side, where there are most historical sites.

I had a desire to walk around the outskirts, but I changed my mind.

At first it seemed to me from afar that the coast was dry and passable.

But then I looked into one place and realized that it would not be possible to do it just like that.

But still, the exposed shore opens up a lot of opportunities for camera angles.

But when winter comes, you can generally get up at any point – the river will freeze!

I like such walks around the city with a landscape bias – although it is not quite to my liking, but to my mind, but still with notes of magic.
