Courtyard spaces. So-so

I remember how the first posts with courtyard spaces were called not by the name of the neighborhood or village, but somehow vaguely. There were moments when I renamed this photographic multi-year project after the Metaphysics of Space type. And it all started as a Jungle in an urban environment.

I just walked around the city at night, in the courtyards, and captured everything that steals attention.

At first there was something in common: the house, the yard, the light.

Then a more targeted search began in the form of a difference in the color temperature of artificial lighting sources (yellow with blue).

Then I started mixing other colors, that is, I started looking for more than two colors. Red reflexes, green, blue, etc. began to be present.

Then I learned about spotting and began photographing different shadows from trees, the trees themselves and the clutter of objects.

There were very good pictures and the internal condition of the place.

And all you need to do is connect to graphic abstraction and you can try yourself at it again. This is infinity.

But this time I didn't get anything worthwhile at all. The second or even the third time I try to get on the frequency of night yards and nothing comes out.

Although now I know what I need – dilapidated wooden structures, height difference, light and shadows from lanterns and late autumn.

For a couple of years in a row, I managed to connect correctly and catch this state both inside and outside.

And if earlier I had a parallel goal not only to create pictures, but also to complete a map called the city of Vologda, now the map is open and I can choose any place.

And there remains one true sincere goal – an abstract graphic composition.

You just need to leave the house, set a chaotic route somewhere to another part of the city diagonally and only react to what responds inside to what you see.

It seems that I have completely forgotten this most important and most important principle in photography!
