Change in life - the ultimate constant
I work for VMware - a large software company, and we're being acquired (bought out) by another company - Broadcom.
They're apparently laying off a large part of our workforce.
Sooo.... my employment soon ends.
I'll be terminated and given severance. Change is coming.
Time to build assets, not trade time for $.
While I love what I do at my job, I realize that I am tired of exchanging my time for dollars directly.
Even though I make good money I am just swapping time for money. This only works long-term if I convert those dollars into assets that make me more money over time.
I've had several different careers during my 52 trips around the sun, and I am not worried about earning an income. I just don't like instability.
Opportunity abounds!
The severance being offered is good, so it gives me a runway to figure out what I want to do when I grow up.
You'll see me more back on Hive now that I won't have full-time employment. You've been warned.
