Hello everybody, hello football fans, football is back. It’s that time of the year again where is football lovers have been waiting for and it’s the time for guys to piss off their girlfriends again.
Football in way came back today with the UEFA Super Cup final between reigning Champions League winners Real Madrid and Uefa Europa League and winners Atalanta. This game was the auditioning of Kylian Mbappe in his new Real Madrid colors after leaving PSG to Real Madrid on a free transfer.
The Uefa Super Cup ended up with Real Madrid as 2-0 victors. It was the first sighting of the long awaited front line of Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Kylian Mbappe. They definitely haven’t clicked as a team yet which is very expected but they still managed to win the game and help Real Madrid win another trophy. After the game, Mbappe said in an interview, “when you say Real Madrid, say trophies”. I believe everyone who watches football agrees with this statement. Even the Barcelona fans certainly agree with this hehe.
Club pre season games are done now and clubs are preparing for their first league games. The premier league officially begins on Friday with Manchester United hosting Fulham. This is certainly going to be a classic. Hopefully, we get lots of goals and a United defeat.
In Germany, the DFB Pokal begins on Friday with Bayern playing away at Ulm. Bayern Munich by their standards has a horrible season last season which saw the club sack Thomas Tuchel at the end of the season and after being rejected by many managers, finally appointed Vincent Kompany to lead the German giants.
La Liga also begins this Friday with Athletic Club hosting Getafe. One of the biggest stories that was surrounding Athletic Club was Nico William’s rumored transfer to Barcelona. Unfortunately, Barca haven’t been able to pull off this transfer yet and it looks like it is one they’ll have to forget about this summer. Maybe there’s still a chance Barca get Nico with their fans believing but I personally, doubt that.
In Italy, Antonio Conte has returned but this time, he’s in charge at Napoli and is looking to bring his former striker, Romelu Lukaku. Napoli and Victor Oshimhen’s time together appears to be reaching an end with both parties looking to get a transfer done. Osimhen had personal terms almost sorted with PSG but PSG aren’t willing to pay the demands of Napoli.
Chelsea and Atletico Madrid have been in the media as well with a potential transfer of Jao Felix to Chelsea. After the transfer of Samu Omoridon from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea fell through, Gallagher’s transfer from Chelsea to Atico has been a hold while the potential transfer of Jao Felix to Chelsea is being discussed.
Man United have announced their new two signings, De Ligt and Mazroui. They hope these 2 signings with the earlier signings of Yoro and Zirkee will elevate their levels. As a rival, I hope United don’t perform too well.
So, be prepared for the football season this weekend, we’re back baby 😁.
