Rising Concerns: The Impact of Hectic Football Schedules on Players' Health and ACL Injuries

Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. Honesty, it has been a boring week since the international break started, and I can't wait for it to end so club football can begin again and give us an exciting week. So this post looks controversial, but I am going to give my thoughts anyway, so let's get the show on the road. Players calling for a reduced schedule have been popping up around for about two to three years now as they feel it is becoming too hectic for them to keep up as it is taking a toll on their ability to keep fit for the season.

When I first heard about players complaining about the football season schedule, I was like, why are they complaining when they are being paid hundreds of thousands of euros per week for what they do on the pitch, so there was no need for them to complain about the more matches being played in a season. I might sound like a jerk, but that was how I preserved the player's situation a year ago, but now I have gained more enlightenment about their complaints, and it is valid.

Four to five years ago it was rare to see a player pick up an ACL injury and up till today many players don't wish to pick that injury because it will end a player's ability to be on the football pitch for a year, I have to say Inter Miami defender Ian Fray has a strong mentality and strong will to play on the field because suffering three ACL injuries in three years is just wild, some players would have ended their career immediately after the S
second injury, and some may not recover psychologically from the injury. This would affect them when playing football on the pitch.

Let's take Ansu Fati from Barcelona, for example. Ansu Fati did not suffer any ACL injury but was injury-prone for some time, and it reduced the quality the Spanish forward brings to the pitch. Ansu Fati's injuries have affected him psychologically and even when he was loaned to Brighton last season he couldn't get his confidence back, but with Hansi Flick as FC Barcelona manager, the German coach has said Ansu Fati trains a lot and he is impressed with what he has seen from Fati and will give Ansu Fati chances to prove his quality on the pitch.

In this month alone, two players have suffered from ACL injuries, which has ended their chance of playing in the current season. It is alarming with the rate of ACL injuries happening and I just hope FIFA and other football governing bodies can sit down and take the matter seriously, and also listen to the player's voices about the heavy football schedule and find a way to balance everything, but unfortunately, there is no indication that FIFA or other football governing bodies and looking into the current situation and I hope that changes soon.

So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by, and have a good day.
