Patience is an Important skill towards planing and attaining goals. It is something I have been learning to build as I work towards attaining a goal. Not only in planning goals, patience is important in our normally or daily interaction.
My Understanding of what it means to be patient is the ability to tolerate annoying and frustrating situations, the ability of being calm, having long suffering and perseverance. It takes a lot to be a patient man and all these qualities fore mentioned are what makes one patient person.
Attaining goals requires time and requires great vision but what is most important to acquire a goal is being patient enough to pass through the process. The Process towards attaining a goal is like a journey to a destination with different routes. Most journey can be rough but straight forward while some can be smooth but has a lot of corners to get you confused to your destination.
Life has a way of showing us different directions to a destination and leaving it for us to choose which path to take to get to our destination. Every journey has its Pros and Cons but it only takes a patient man to pass through what he meets by the way.
The journey to your goal will surely come with distractions no matter if it is the smooth road or the rough road. The distractions will come either in an amusing way or a form of frustration to keep you out of track. When this distractions comes, you begin to question your journey if it really worth it or not. You lose focus on the reason why you started the journey.
All this I have said is what I have passed through and what I have asked myself back in time. I have set goals that I thought I wouldn't make it. I was at the brink of giving up and letting my dreams go but I kept one thing in mind that I shouldn't give up. I had to be patient as I pushed myself further only with one thought of what I want to achieve. Then when I attained what I wanted, it came as a shock because I was depressed and frustrated, but I didn't give up the journey even though I had the thoughts of giving up so many times.
From all I have passed through, there is a lesson I have learned from attaining goals which is: When planning towards a goal (destination), think of other little achievements (streets, routes) to attain to leads to that goal (final destination). Sometimes or maybe most times, moving the opposite direction is actually the faster route than going straight forward to the goal. ABOVE ALL, IT ONLY TAKES PATIENCE TO COMPLETE THE JOURNEY.
