In Italy you dont only have beautiful nature but also sweet little friends. Oh so the boys call them. On the deck infront of the house there were many. The kids loved them and so did I but I confess only because I would have the great opportunity to do a blog for #amazingnature with them. I do know that they are just as afraid of me as I am of them, but I do admitt, I-close they are very handsome.

We had a bucket outside and one of them
climbed in so we were able to look up close and see the long toes and the long tail.

I don’t know what they are. Lizards or salamanders? I don’t have the knowledge. Lizards and salamanders are a bit similar in appearance. But they are very different animals, my dad told the boys.

Lizards are reptiles. Lizards' skin is covered with scales. These scales protect the animals against dehydration. Therefore, lizards can even live in the desert. Lizards usually have five toes and nails. Lizards lay eggs around a hole under the ground. Small lizards hatch from the eggs that look just like the adult lizards.

Salamanders are amphibians. That means that they live on land as well as in water. Salamanders have a thin skin without scales. The skin remains damp. This is because there are special glands in the skin of a salamander that release moisture. On land, salamanders are always in moist places.

They don't like sunbathing, because then they dry out. A salamander's front legs have four toes and no nails. Salamanders often lay their eggs in the water. Larvae hatch from those eggs, very small salamanders without hind legs and gills that are still on the outside. The larvae remain in the water until they have become little salamanders.

Do you know what these sweets are?

So with a bit of scare in me, I did manage to do a new #amazingnature blog for this week, sorry @adalger for the absence but the cows were getting boring, I had to travel to do another entry hahaha.

Thanks for stopping by, its appreciated and remember focus on being creative instead of being bee-zy.
