Hive Governance vs Steem Governance

Pretty f'd up what's going on over at Steem.

Not only are Witnesses from the community elected as soon as they promise their allegiance to Sun. There are also Witnesses with accounts younger than 3 days voted by Sun, that are seemingly from within the community. But it should be obvious that those are simply sockpuppets in disguise.

And I think there is even some proof:

All of the previous sockpuppets accounts and most of the "new ones", have the same pricefeed age.

Take a look below. (far right is the pricefeed: $0.148/$0.149/$0.150 - 6 hours ago)

  • Purple: Initial sockpuppet accounts created by Justin Sun to overtake Steem
  • Yellow: "New" community witnesses that were voted by Justin Sun less than a week after their account was created.

It's not a coincidence, that all of those accounts highlighted published their latest price feed 6 hours ago.

Normally, it should look something like this:

Can you see how diverse the timestamps are? 9mins, 5hrs, 23mins, 3hrs, 3mins.

That's because every one of those Witnesses is an individual, running their own servers. This is crucial for the governance & security of the blockchain.

But what Sun is doing, is to undermine the whole point of a blockchain.

Which is a primary reason why #Hive was created: to protect the governance of Steem. Since we couldn't do it exactly on Steem, due to the ninja-mined stake, we're doing it on Hive.

On Hive, the real decentralized spirit of Steem lives on.
