I found a box of Barbies when scrapping.
I think the recent movie has sparked a lot of interest in Barbie collecting. The dolls are around 20 to 25 years old, but still in original boxes. Some of the boxes are not in perfect shape, but all of the dolls are unused.
There's about 10 or 15 dolls in the box. I found the box alongside the road (trash pick up day) when I was out looking for scrap metal. It's funny that plastic dolls are worth a lot more than scrap metal by weight. Like, 100 times more!
So far, the sales online have been pretty good. I try to list two dolls every few days. Irish Barbie, and Princess of the Nile Barbie both have sold.
Today, Golden Angel Barbie took flight on the auction.
This is a special collector edition of Barbie angels that were done in late 1999 through the early 2000s. This one is Pink Label. And like the other Barbies so far, she's netted around $15 of profit online.
I am not sure if these dolls are going to collectors or children. At first, I thought collectors, but then I priced new Barbies. It looks like a Vintage Barbie is less expensive, even when New In Box, than a new Barbie. Either way, I hope the person that purchased the doll enjoys it.
I am a one-person mission to keep great stuff out of the landfill. I'll be back on the road this week looking for old dressers, tables and toys.
So far, that's 3 Barbies sold for $45 of profit.
