Tanak still hopes for 2nd WRC title after strong result in Chile

Hi, friends!

First of all I would like you to know that I found another WRC encyclopedia in @driipam and brought her to Hive so please help her by subscribe of her blog and upvote of her posts if you like our sport.

Ok, back to business. Estonian Ott Tanak won his 1st title in 2019 when he was part of Toyota works squad but somehow I am sure that he won it just because Seb Ogier didn't have the right machinery in his hands. That Citroen C3 WRC was just awful car to drive when even eight-time WRC champion Ogier couldn't provide something better from it.

But I also must admit that Tanak improved as a driver, first of all with confidence related thing, but also with better use of his brain because he had some terrible tire choices of bringing only one spare wheel at some tough gravel rallies and then had to retire from a day after having double puncture. That was really stupid in my opinion.

So five years are behind him, he changed two squads - Hyundai and M-Sport Ford. He realized that he can't win the title at M-Sport because of lack of budget and no testing so he came back to Hyundai after only one year of absence at that team.

He has Thierry Neuville as his team mate this year again and Neuville is in the title lead with this 'maybe stupid' points math where it is hard to lose because there is also Sunday to 'repair' things and Tanak is very much behind his team mate.

But he hopes and waits for Neuville's mistake to make the title fight more straight forward and tense. Neuville rarelly makes mistakes this season but when nerves start to play the game, everything is possible.

Let the best win - as always...
