🇺🇸 English Versión 🇺🇸
This title may sound a bit strange, but there is too much truth in so few words. Last Sunday, April 2nd, together with some coworkers we decided to have a barbecue at the residence of one of the girls. So we made a small budget and divided expenses.
When we arrived we started talking about so many topics at the same time that I don't even know how we got to them. After talking we got ready to prepare things, well I was just observing because the kitchen and I don't really have a good relationship.
In every group of friends, each one has a job to do, so I will explain them below:
- Gabriel: The omen
- Leilan: Hostess and Cook
- Nayiber: Kitchen assistant
- Jaime (Leilan's partner): Light the grill and season the meat.
- Deivi (me): Observing
That being clear, we continue with the story. Everything was going great, although to my surprise Jaime had drunk the night before so he was super tired and with a horrible hangover, which led him to go to sleep. So we had to solve as we could, but without any result because the charcoal did not want to light! We were more than 20 minutes and nothing, until I had the brilliant idea of using a few branches of dry grass that were nearby and put them in the center and around the coal and after a few attempts, patience and blowing a lot hahahaha we saw the first flames and Gabriel said:
"Deivi's straw saved the day" .
Which was a mixture of satisfaction after being huffing and puffing for quite a while and because from the previous comment other jokes and many laughs arose. Once the grill was ready the food began to be placed, Nayiber proposed to make some arepas and as good Venezuelans we are our answer was a resounding yes.
After a few minutes we could taste the first cuts that accompanied with guasacaca made by Jaime's dad, turned out to be an exquisite combination. It was 3:30pm and we were still not eating but it turns out that we were not the only ones, this little furry friend called guachi, short for guachimán came to us eager to eat.
He lives inside the residence, the neighbors adopted him when he was a puppy and now he is a neighbor of the community. Between 4:00 or 4:30pm we were finally able to eat, the pictures don't do justice to how delicious it was.
The rest of the afternoon was spent taking a dip in the pool, sharing anecdotes, laughter and of course some pictures. As you can see in the pictures we had the space just for us and that is precisely what we had planned since we knew that if we left it for Easter it would be full and leaving it for the following week would be impossible. So far my little contribution to this community, I hope you liked it.
A big hug until next time, greetings.
