Birds behind my mobile home

As some of you might already know we have a mobile home on a campsite where we go to every now and then in the weekends.
The campsite is near a large nature reserve, and the location of our mobile home is at the edge of the campsite, so nearly in the woods.
It's a lovely place with a lot of birds. You can hear them sing all day, but they sing the most during dusk and dawn.

Around our mobile home I have placed some bird feeders. It isn't really necessary since there is enough food for them in the woods, but it's also not bad to feed them. And the bird foods attract a lot of birds.

Since I've placed a feeder and a feeding plate right behind our mobile home I can see the birds all day. It's almost like we have pets 😝

Shooting the birds

I'm shooting the birds from inside my mobile home behind the glass. I take a seat near the window, focus my 70-200 mm lens on the bird feeders and wait for them to arrive.

As you can see I'm quite close, but as long as I sit still they don't mind and get their food. This is how I can get some great close-ups of them.

Soon after I sat down the first curious blue tit showed up.
It seems like a young one. It has a blue back, a yellow breast and a black stripe over its eyes. They are very common birds in The Netherlands.

Its brother is the great tit. As you might have quessed by his name, this bird is a bit bigger than the blue tit. It also has a complete black cap.
You can see this one is a male because he has a black tie. The females also have a stripe, but a bit more vague and brownish.

This blue tit is still a youngster. You can hardly spot it's blue colour.

Every now and then an Eurasian nuthatch came to the table too. These birds are really fast. They fly in, pick a seed and fly off.
They are quite good climbers as well. You can see them running face down from tree trunks. They are the only birds that are capable of doing that.

And here are some more shots...

It really looks if they were posing for me.

Ecency has recently implemented an easy way to add video's, so I'm adding a video as well. Here you can see why it was relatively easy to capture the birds on film.

I hope you enjoyed my blog.
