Spoonbills are one of the bigger birds that can be found here in Austria and they are especially beautiful I think. The search the shallow water for small fish and insects when they roam through the water with their beaks. It really looks funny because they are very fast with it and they wander around the shallow lake shores and most of the time look for food. In the morning or in the evening they have a time where they rest and then the often stand on one leg in the water and wait or even sleep. Spoonbills are really funny birds. When I watched them the small bird was always begging for food but the parents refused to give him some since he should already look for his own.

The second picture is also showing some spoonbills at the same spot. I was able to take several pictures of these birds this spring and summer at Lake Neusiedler and I am already looking forward to visit this place some time soon.
