Pied Advocet in flight pictures

The Pied Advocet is a wading bird that can be found in the eastern part of Austria but last spring it was also on a short visit in Upper Austria near Wels when I could take these pictures of it. It is a wader that searches riverbanks and ponds with sand for small insects with its beak. When wading through the water it moves its beak from one side to the other and searches the river or pond sandbanks for small insects and invertibrates. If they are in a group of several birds this looks really amazing since often they do this in a synchronized manner. Gertting some pictures of this bird wading in the shallow water is a little bit easier than some inflight pictures that I dit this day. I already managed to get several pictures of this bird when wading in the shallow water but I only hav few inflight pictures.
