Lucky catch for the Bee-Eaters

The last time I visited the Bee-Eaters in Lower Austria I was very lucky and could take several nice pictures of the birds sitting on a branch and every single one of them cought a dragonfly wich probably is one of their favorite foods. It is really nice watching them hunting in the evening since they fly around very much and whenever they are sucessfull they sit down on a branch and eat their prey. Bee-Eaters can be found in eastern part of Austria in Hungary and Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa.

Whenever I visit the eastern part of Austria in late spring or summer then I also like to visit the bee-eaters and take some pictures of these colorfull birds.

They live in colonies and therefore you can often find a bunch of them on one spot. Picture: Florian Glechner.
