Greetings to all Hivers, both content creators and curators, it's been an awesome and wonderful few years of Hive experience in the world. Hive keeps thriving and growing in both user base and features.
Well I, @skyehi am really grateful for the chance to be a Hiver and I'm super proud to commit to the growth plan of this platform and community.
I've been trying to follow updates of any upcoming Hive program or festival because I believe I have an idea or feature proposal that I would love to contribute to this platform. I can't wait to see what happens in Mexico.
Well perhaps the developers of the platform have already thought about this before or maybe not but I wanted to propose it and see whether or not it's a great idea.
I really hope it gets noticed.
THE PROPOSAL
In today's blog post, I'm really excited to propose a feature that could further enhance the user experience on Hive: the Notification Bell icon feature.
The Concept
Now guys, imagine a Hive where you as a curator or follower never miss a post from your favorite creators or authors.
Very much like the YouTube notification bell icon, this feature would allow users to stay in the loop with their followed creators. It will help improve support of good quality posts from content creators because every post will notify the curators and consumers of the post. They can then go check out the post and support the content creator.
When a creator you follow publishes a new post, the Notification Bell icon will light up, alerting you to the fresh content. The color or design of the icon could be different from the normal notification icon on Hive of an activity happening. The difference in icons will inform the follower that it's a new post and not an upvote or follow or comment they had from their own previous posts.
Operation of notification icon
I believe the beauty of this proposal lies in its flexibility. The users can choose to turn the notification feature on or off, tailoring their experience to their preferences. They can decide which creator to have the bell icon for and which creator's post should be ignored. The power will be in the hands of the users and followers of the creator.
So Why does it matter anyways
This Notification Bell feature I believe addresses a very common issue in social media platforms these days. Platforms are trying to find ways of keeping their users hooked to the platform and interact or contribute to the growth od the platform.
By implementing such a feature, I believe all users now and then will be notified when their content creators make posts which will cause them to visit Hive platforms and contribute.
So this really ensures that users are never out of the loop when their favorite creators post.
It's going to improve engagement on Hive. It's also going to encourage user interaction amongst each other which I believe is part of what Hive wants to do right guys?
All of these things will strengthen the Hive community bonds and create a strong and futuristic online community.
HiveFest
Trust me guys, I really hope this proposal I just made gets noticed and sparks discussions in the upcoming HiveFest program or event. That would be a big deal for me🥰. I hope the programmers and developers behind Hive will notice this idea because I believe it can bring great advantage to this platform and foster growth.
IN CONCLUSION
In conclusion, I strongly believe that the Notification Bell icon feature has the potential to make Hive an even more user-friendly and inclusive platform with more engagement than before.
I hope we can accept this proposal and encourage more discussions around it during the upcoming HiveFest Mexico, to bring awareness to its potential to improve the Hive Blockchain.
I'm just a young writer on Hive with ideas and this is my proposal and idea contribution to Hive. Thanks for reading this blog post fellow Hivers. Have a lovely day and looking forward to the next HiveFest guys. 🥰
