DJI first real test flight and combining hobby’s

Well Hivers I finally got out to give my new DJI Mini2 Drone a proper test flight at the local playing field.

In total, I was out for about an hour and got to test some of the cool smart control features before it started raining and put an end to my fun.

One of the great things about 3D printing is the way you can combine it with so many hobbies too. Over the weekend I’ve printed off a few bits for the drone and I don’t think they will be the last.

For starters I made a neck strap and clip for the controller.

It clips in with the Peak QR I printed for my camera a while ago.

Perfect position. I think I might need a hair cut before to long.

The other handy print was a takeoff pad which is very handy as the small drone sits really close to the ground and the prop blades are not the best of lawnmowers.

It breaks down nice and small for popping in an bag too.

And its easy to spot from the air on the drone camera.

All I need to do now is get my landings better so I can hit the pad the first time.
