Back to make some mess

After our vacation time, which went by at the speed of light and was full of activities, we arrived at our Spanish home. Everything was neat and clean, just as I left it. A friend came to take care of my plants and also to spend some time here so there were no surprises that could happen to us. It was too neat... luckily, that wonderful idea came to my mind to make a little mess! 😂 With colours!

What can this mean, can you guess?

Oh yes, this activity was "forgotten" by me, ie I didn't have any materials or time to make a kindness rock during our trip. Today I realized that I really missed it, so I threw myself into action.

You know how it goes, you first choose the rock and if it will have a base, then you first paint the layers of the white base to cover the rock. Multiple layers. Don't skimp on the white paint or your time! But let me tell you a little secret, if you really don't have time to wait enough between each layer, then you can use a hair dryer, like I did. Paint - dry, and so several times.

Blue was the choice for today's kindness rock. I mixed an intense blue colour with white and got a softer, silky nuance of blue. The same process was repeated as with the white base: paint, dry and repeat two or three (or four - I forgot to count 😆) times the same.

Unfortunately, in one of these repeats, I didn't wait long enough to turn to the other side and in one little spot the paint stuck to my hand; that is why there is now a small imperfection on the blue background of the rock. It still can't be seen, just on the photos that will come later.

I could leave the rock just like this, blue without any detail hahaha, but that was not the intention. There was one tree that wanted to be born on this rock... and the trigger came from a little pendant that I found two days ago at a French gas station.

We stopped briefly, but the gas station was full, there was not a single parking space. As we pulled over for a while, I stepped out of the car and the first thing I saw was a small pendant on the asphalt. Who knows who lost it and when, because this place is very frequent. The material of this pendant is not precious, I think it is just costume jewellery, but what it represents is nice. It is the Tree of Life.

There are many ways how you can paint the Tree of Life. Different cultures use different patterns and different types of trees, as well as the meaning can vary. We can read more about it here. The small pendant with this tree was the inspiration for this tree, which I started with the trunk and main branches.

I painted all the details just with brushes (three of the finest brushes I have got) so it required a lot of focus and calm hands. Anyway, I find the trunk a bit chubby although it can also represent an already old tree, one that lived many summers and winters already. During winter it may look like this.

As it happens every year, when early spring comes the first leaves appear on the branches. Not long after that, the tree blooms (like almonds or cherries) and we can enjoy the play of the white and pink flowers.

It doesn't mean that winter can't reach out again, bringing some snowflakes to additionally decorate the blooming trees. That is what happened here 😁

A little mess of colours - which can give some peace of mind and remind us of the ever-renewing life. 🌿
