it's been a while since i posted here but today i would like to share some photos of crimson rose butterflies (Pachliopta hector) i took last year in our garden in southern maharashtra. some sources classify this butterfly as (Atrophaneura hector).
i like it's long legs and how it curls it's body
here one is attracted to our curry tree (Murraya koenigii) in flower. we grow these trees for the leaves-curry leaves which are commonly used in indian cuisine but have nothing to do with what in english is called curry. the trees thrive and spread quickly in our soil which is pure sand.
