Así es que hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mi experiencia en un nuevo restaurante japonés que recientemente descubrí en las calles de Vigo. Se trata del Restaurante HYD. Decidimos visitar este lugar porque hace un tiempo teníamos ganas de comer comida japonesa especialmente Sushi y cada vez que pasábamos por este restaurante y veíamos el menú nos decíamos "tenemos que venir", así que finalmente hoy fue el día.
Primera Impresión
Cuando entramos al restaurante lo primero que llamo mi atención fueron los farolitos rojos pero luego de echar un vistazo a todo el lugar me pareció desalentador que estuviera completamente vacío a pesar de ser un viernes a medio día. Me hizo cuestionarme si la comida estaría a la altura de mis expectativas, pero aún así decidimos darle una oportunidad. La decoración era simple pero acogedora, con un toque auténtico proporcionado por los farolitos rojos y las imágenes de Geishas.

First Impression
When we entered the restaurant the first thing that caught my attention were the little red lanterns but after taking a look around the whole place I found it discouraging that it was empty despite it being a Friday at noon. It made me question whether the food would live up to my expectations, but we still decided to give it a try. The decor was simple but cozy, with an authentic touch provided by the red lanterns and images of Geisha.

Una vez sentados, exploramos el menú y decidimos pedir algo especial. Yo opté por un Ramen de carne de ternera, desde que vi la película La Chica del Ramen, me volví fan del Ramen así que siempre lo ordeno en cada restaurante japonés que visito. Mi esposo se inclinó por unos roles de sushi acompañados de una ración de rollitos primavera que tanto le gustan.
The Menu and Food
Once seated, we explored the menu and decided to order something special. I opted for a beef Ramen, ever since I saw the movie _The Ramen Girl,_ I became a fan of Ramen so I always order it at every Japanese restaurant I visit. My husband opted for some sushi rolls accompanied by a portion of spring rolls that he likes so much.
Una vez que probé el Ramen quedé sorprendida. El caldo tenía un sabor exquisito desde el primero hasta el ultimo sorbo. La carne de ternera estaba tierna y jugosa, el brócoli crujiente como me encanta y los fideos perfectamente al dente. Cada bocado era una delicia y disipó todas mis dudas iniciales sobre el restaurante. Hasta a mi esposo le encantó, cosa que a él nunca antes le había gustado. Realmente quedé muy complacida.
Once I tasted the Ramen I was amazed. The broth tasted exquisite from the first to the last sip. The beef was tender and juicy, the broccoli crispy as I love it, and the noodles perfectly al dente. Every bite was a delight and dispelled all my initial doubts about the restaurant. Even my husband loved it, which he had never liked before. I was pleased.
Los roles de sushi fueron igualmente impresionantes. Frescos y bien presentados, cada pieza tenía el tamaño y la proporción perfectos. Los ingredientes eran de alta calidad, y el sabor era impecable. Aunque no me acordé de tomarles fotos, Los rollitos primavera también estaban muy buenos, crujientes por fuera y suaves por dentro, con una salsa que eran el acompañamiento ideal, con un relleno sabroso que resaltaba con cada mordisco.
The sushi rolls were equally impressive. Fresh and well-presented, each piece was the perfect size and proportion. The ingredients were of high quality, and the taste was impeccable. Although I didn't remember to take pictures of them, the spring rolls were also very good, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a sauce that was the ideal accompaniment, with a tasty filling that stood out with every bite.
Al ser un restaurante familiar la decoración es muy sencilla, pero la atención es muy esmerada. Aunque nos atendió una señora mayor que no sabía hablar muy bien español, al final tuvo que llamar a su nieto porque no entendía que yo le pedía que el huevo de mi ramen estuviera bien cocido.
A pesar de la primera impresión algo desfavorable, la calidad de la comida superó con creces nuestras expectativas. El ramen es, sin duda, de los mejores que he probado, y los roles de sushi y rollitos primavera no se quedan atrás.
Recomiendo visitar HYD y disfrutar de su deliciosa oferta culinaria. No dejen que las apariencias iniciales los desanimen; la comida vale cada momento de la experiencia y la verdadera magia está en cada plato. Mi esposo y yo volveremos!
Being a family restaurant, the decoration is very simple, but the service is very attentive. Although we were served by an elderly lady who did not speak Spanish very well, in the end, she had to call her grandson because she did not understand my request that the egg in my ramen was well cooked.
Despite the somewhat unfavorable first impression, the quality of the food far exceeded our expectations. The ramen is, without a doubt, some of the best I have ever tasted, and the sushi rolls and spring rolls are not far behind.
I highly recommend visiting HYD and enjoying its delicious culinary offerings. Don't let initial appearances put you off; the food is worth every moment of the experience and the real magic is in every dish. My husband and I will be back!
