Aloo Matar (Potato and Peas)

Aloo Matar which is the word in Urdu know as Potato with Peas. This food is famous in Punjab side where they make in the form of curry.

Potato and Peas are available at every grocery which is not too much expensive. The food when cooked is very delicious and tasty.

Ingredients:
The ingredients are required for the making of Aalu Matar curry.

  1. Freshly Chopped Coriander leaves
  2. water
  3. Matar/ green peas
  4. Potatoes finely diced
  5. Tomatoes finely chopped
  6. Turmeric Powder
  7. Red Chili Powder
  8. Salt
  9. Ginger Garlic Paste
  10. Green Chili Chopped
  11. Onions Finely chopped
  12. Cumin Seeds
  13. Oil

Method

  1. Firstly, in a pressure cooker add oil and heat it.
  2. Add cumin seeds, let them crackle.
  3. Add finely chopped onions, chopped green chillies, mix and saute until onions turn soft.
  4. Add ginger garlic paste and saute until raw smell disappears.
  5. Add salt, red chili powder, turmeric, mix and cook until masala is cooked well and oils start seperating.
  6. Add chopped tomatoes. mix and cook the tomatoes until they turn soft.
  7. Cook the onion tomato gravy until oil starts appearing at the sides.
  8. Add diced potatoes, mix well.
  9. Add matar/green peas into it, mix and cook for 4-5 minutes until oil starts appearing.
  10. Add 2 cups of water, chopped coriander leaves, mix well.
  11. Pressure cool the curry for 3 whistles.
  12. Reduce he steam and open the lid.
  13. Alo Matar curry is ready to be served.

It's easy to make with less consuming time and with more taste. Try at least once in a week it's also healthy food and good for diet as well.
Those who wants to use in diet can make in the same procedure with less oil.
