It was a cold windy night in spring. Snow drifted over the old uninhabited streets of the city, where a noise rung over the city. The dementors, beings with no soul, were on the hunt again. It was time to feast upon the remaining souls in the city that was left.
It all started a few weeks ago. The dementors have always been a dark part of society. No one knew what they where, what they did or why. They just appeared out of nowhere every few decades. They came out of the big park. There were a few small children playing in the park. Without the small ones knowing, the dementors surrounded the park, like never before. One of the children saw that their playground was surrounded by the hooded creatures. Their parents were nowhere to be found, so the small ones started to play with each other. They were deep into a short game, when one of the dementors jumped out of the bushes behind a group of laughing children and took the soul of a boy. Within 5 seconds the dementor flew of with the little soul. The children wake up from their eyes and started to scream. The other children ran away, screaming into their parents' arms. The dementor was able to take more souls within the next few weeks. The dementors were seen all over the city.
People started to leave their homes and live inside the big caternary. They were afraid of the dark hooded creatures. The dementor didn't care. The city was theirs. In the middle of the city there was a small hospital where a couple was in their sleep. Quaid was a wheelchair bound man with an injured leg. His wife, Sana was very worried that they would leave her.
(I have to ask, can the ages of the characters be made more clear here? Adults usually have a priority on their age, as we know it. However, for the smaller children, this isn't a priority.)
Sana was worried about her husband's health. She couldn't go to work for many years. Her husband, Quaid just sat in the wheelchair. His injured leg was all he could move. Sana lay beside him in the bed, she thought about her son Quaid Jr. She was wondering if he was okay. Suddenly, they both fell asleep while they were worried. The female doctor turned off the lights and stepped outside, shaking her head. The hospital was almost a complete loss. No-one visited them and they couldn't go out because of the dementors. The man who left the hospital turned around and walked back through the door. He came inside and started to wander around. He went up to the window and saw that there was a big army of dementors heading straight for the small hospital. He ran outside and looked back at his workplace. He broke down crying into his hands. Tears rolled down onto the ground. He wanted to go back inside to see if there was anything he could salvage, but he knew he would lose his soul to the dementors. He didn't care anymore. The man came back and stood in the door frame. He saw a tiny figure lying on the floor. It was the woman, Sana. She was a short woman. His eyes opened up and he lifted her up. She gasped for air. Her arms where shaking. As she was gazing into the man's eyes, a tear rolled down onto his cheek. He held her cuddlely, as she together with him fell into a cold sleep.
