Whether you work from home or at a busy office, for the majority of us the office is a source of frustration, anxiety and discomfort. My new series, “Your Top Five” aims to guide you in finding your inner peace in the workplace. When the body experiences stress, the hormone cortisol becomes elevated giving way to scary health concerns such as high blood pressure, mood instability, weight gain and fatigue. Inviting peaceful elements into your workspace can help release tension, creating a sense of wellbeing.
5. Succulents
Small, easy to care fore plants are one of the easiest ways to add a bit of zen into your office! If you’re like me and lack a green thumb then an artificial plant is the perfect option. The color green is associated with prosperity, endurance and confidence making these succulents a great accent for your desk.
4. Mini Zen Cat Calendar
If you’re confined to a less than spacious office, try optimizing your station with smaller zen elements like this mini wall calendar. Zen Cat features paintings and poetry meant to inspire thought and peace.
3. Essential Oil Collection
When we desire relaxing aromas, most of us think about lighting a candle. Unfortunately our go-to candle is likely far from zen and downright toxic! Most candles on the market emit harmful artificial fragrance which compromises our health. Incorporating essential oils into the workspace and even your home can do wonders for stress levels! The following scents are some of my favorites: Lavender for anxiety, Ylang Ylang for mood, Bergamot for stress relief and Frankincense for focus.
2. Aromatherapy Desktop Diffuser
Aromatherapy is a fantastically easy way to enjoy essential oils in the office. With just a bit of water and a few drops of oil you can boost focus, creativity or even calm your nerves.
1. Desktop Illuminated Relaxation Fountain
This tabletop fountain is one of my absolute favorite pieces for creating a relaxing workstation. Theres a reason we feel at peace sleeping during heavy rain fall. Ambient flowing water promotes a sense of calm relaxation. What makes this space saving fountain my number one choice is its combination of ambient flowing water and natural aesthetic.
