Importance Of Mental Health

This is my personal opinion and not academic, but I have the feeling that society doesn't yet take mental health all that serious. Like, a lot of people can't barely be convinced mental disorders are real diseases. if the problem isn't taken serious, how can you convince society to invest more resources into fixing it?
And how would one even fix the problem at the root? clinical psych and psychiatry mostly cure but don't prevent. you'd have to make widespread changes in how our lives and the environment in which it takes place is structured, in a way that doesn't make us all (mentally) sick.
For example, if you improved working conditions, my guess is a lot of mental health issues would magically solve themselves. Like, enable people to do jobs that are fulfilling and don't crush their soul, make sure there is such jobs available for everyone, pay people more so they don't live in poverty, have people work less so they have more time for themselves and for family. Also make alcohol illegal already .
I honestly doubt that ever happens though, at least not in my lifetime. Excuse me if i sound like a conspiracy nut, but these kind of changes probably aren't in the best interest of the rich elites in charge. so it'll probably be met with a lot of resistance.
