1 in 4 dengue patients admitted in 24 hours: Department of Health

The prevalence of dengue disease is increasing. The number of patients with this disease is increasing daily. In the last 24 hours, another 5,900 have been hospitalized with measles.

The patient was admitted to the hospital on Friday morning (August 2) from 8am to Saturday (August 7th) all over the country, the Health Department's Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room said.

According to the government's data, out of the 4 thousand 1, the number of people with dengue fever is 1 in 4, one with dengue hemorrhage and 1 in people with dengue shock syndrome.

They say 22,000 people have been admitted to Dengue from different hospitals since the beginning of this year. Of them, 3 thousand 5 have returned home with treatment. According to their estimates, 3 people died in the disease during this period. However, according to media reports, the death toll in dengue is much higher.

For the last 5 years, it has been said that the number of dengue cases has never exceeded 3,000 before this year. In July this year alone, 1,212 dengue cases were reported. The third highest number of people were infected with the fever in November 27.

The control room said that the number of patients admitted to public-private hospitals in the country is 5,900. Among them, there are 5,900 hospitalized in 5 public, private and autonomous hospitals in Dhaka city. And outside of Dhaka, there are 2,700. 5,900 have received treatment in different hospitals.

Experts say dengue outbreaks may occur in the country by the end of October or November, unless a viable carrier can control the Aedes mosquito.
