Hello my steemit community,
In today's edition of IMPROVING HEALTH OF STEEMIANS, I want to talk to you about Headaches, especially Tension and Cluster headache.
Headache is one of the most common symptoms today. Almost 50% of adults suffer from some sort of headaches.
The most common cause is the lifestyle, too much stress, alcohol consumption, and lack of sleep. A small percentage of headache is caused by some serious medical problem. Headache begin gradually or abruptly. It can be sharp and dull. Sometimes pain starts in the neck, the teeth and can be diffuse, or localized, to one side only.
Headaches are divided into primary headaches (migraine, tension and cluster headaches) and secondary headaches that are caused by some other medical conditions.
A tension headache is the most common type of headache (50% of all headaches are tension), and yet its causes aren't well-understood. It is much more common in women.
These headaches can last from 30 minutes to a few days. The episodic kind usually start gradually, often in the middle of the day.
This form of headache is not so intense as the migraine, but it can certainly cause many problems.

As I mentioned it before, the precise cause of tension headache is unknown, there are some factors that contribute to tension headaches, such as:
stress
impaired sleep
neck injury
TREATMENT
Treatment can include pain relievers, exercise , stress management because the stress if one of the main triggers and relaxation techniques.
Cluster headaches are extremely painful series of relatively short headaches which happens every day, and can last for weeks. They most commonly occur on one side of the head. The exact cause is not known, but is considered to be related to a part of the brain called a hypothalamus.
90% of people with cluster headaches are middle-aged men. Fortunately, they are rare and not life-threatening
SYMPTOMS
pain on the one side of the head, always in the same place
pain becomes intense after 5-10 minutes
the strongest pain lasts between 30 to 60 minutes
less intense pain can last up to 3 hours

Other less common symptoms are:
- nasal congestion
- redness of the eyes
- sweaty and red face

TREATMENT
There's no cure for cluster headaches. The goal of treatment is to decrease the severity of pain and the most successful way to do that is a shot of sumatriptan and breathing oxygen through a face mask. Some other medications such as local anesthetics can be used.
