Before, whenever I heard of Manila the first thought that would pop up in my head was the traffic and the density of people within the area. As I grew older, the thoughts didn't necessarily change but it certainly got deeper.
I took this picture when I was in a hotel room balcony and I realized that the traffic, the population, all that means is that this city brings opportunities to people of all walks of life. It shows how people persevere throughout the hardships, the pain of having to spend hours stuck in traffic, the heat, and many more in search for that treasure they could one day uncover. If you delve deep enough, what's golden about this picture isn't really the Sun setting but the people who are covered in darkness who struggle every day to find their golden opportunity here in this city.
