This summer, I suffered from various physical ailments, such as lethargy, headaches, stomachaches, lack of motivation, etc. I searched the Internet to be sure, and found that I fit the description of air-conditioner sickness. The difference in temperature between the hot outside and the air-conditioned room disturbs the autonomic nervous system, causing various physical ailments.

This year was particularly unusual. The last of the five glaciers in Venezuela disappeared, sea squirts, a specialty of Miyagi Prefecture, were devastated by the rise in sea water temperature, and in Iwate Prefecture, potatoes have become scarce and expensive.

So, going back to the topic of my health, I was having a slight headache that came and went, and a dull pain in my abdomen that came and went, so I got worried and asked my internal medicine doctor, who said it was probably due to a disruption of the autonomic nervous system caused by the temperature changes due to the weather, and he didn't prescribe any particular medication.

I did my own research on the Internet and adjusted my clothes to keep my body cool, took baths, and drank drinks at room temperature to stay hydrated.

When I think of climate, I think of global warming. I had a Facebook friend who said that eventually we wouldn't be able to get crops and humans will start eating insects, and she may be right. There are so many kinds of food now. A store promoting entomophagy opened on the way in the east wing of the S-PAL building next to Sendai Station.

I spend my days enduring anxiety.
