Destination of the Day #2: Marburg, Germany

When I plan a vacation in Germany, I usually prefer it to be in a small city rather than a metropolis like Berlin or Frankfurt. I like those small cities of Germany because they are so peaceful, unhurried, adorable and full of green space. That’s why Marburg is one of my favorite destinations in Germany. It is a small university town with a population consisting of mostly young people. It is famous for its narrow cobblestone streets, old apartments and the castle rising upon the top of the hill which inspired Grimm Brothers, the most popular fairy tale writers of the country. When you are in Marburg, don’t miss the little sculptures spreaded all over the town which imitate the characters written by Grimm Brothers, and don’t forget to eat the delicious Auflauf which is a traditional German food. To get in the city, you can fly to Frankfurt or Cologne and then take a bus or train to Marburg. You will find a small heaven there!
