Farm livin' is the life for me. Land spreadin' out so far and wide. Keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside.....
That is the "Green Acres" TV series theme song and every time I see my husband with the pitchfork (see below)..that song comes to my mind, like all day.
I would like to show you some pictures of my spring garden and the painstaking task of creating it!
Those black tulips were really the color burgundy but were such a rich burgundy that they looked black.
I always liked these red and white tulips together in my garden!
An abundance of pink on cream and thriving with beauty!!
My husband's favorite...This photo does not do it justice because these bloom out in softball-sized flowers with red on yellow charming and breathtaking!!
This large rock was in our front yard which gave us the idea to create our enchanting flower garden. As you can see, there are some blades around the rock. My husband dug these up from his grandparent's farm nearby before it was sold after they had passed. I had never seen any like these before and regret that we didn't take them when we moved. They looked like miniature easter lillies to me. They were a pale yellow, almost white. I could not find a close-up picture.
And here you have it....the famous "Green Acres" picture!!!
We always tried to teach our kids how to work in the gardens.
HAPPY SPRING EVERYONE!!
Please Note:All of my pictures are my own, unless otherwise stated, either taken with my digital camera Kodak 14MP, or an actual picture from my huge collection for many years that I have scanned to my computer to use which most were taken with an old fashioned 110 pocket camera which took cartridges with negatives to send off to be developed.
