LASAGNA GARDENING NO DIG PROJECT UPDATE - 26th SEPTEMBER 2017 SUSTAINABLE LIVING 🌷 👌

Hi my Steemian gardening tribe and homesteaders how we doing today. So last week I started my Lasagna gardening no dig project and I will be posting my progress with Steemit .This project is a big deal for me as I suffer from allergies pollen, grass and bug fears, the earth has always been my frienemy so I will be releasing a lot of fears and false ideologies that I have been fed by doctors, family and society regarding my aliments. This project is a healing process for me and I love the connection I am making with the earth. I suffer with poor breathing especially when I smell fresh grass it is really irritating for me. This is the main reason why I opted for Lasagna also know as layer gardening and boy am I in for an emotional ride I am open and excited at thought of growing my own organic food so it will all be worth it in the long run.

How the garden looked on the 21st September day one of the project.

I started today by cleaning the weeds growing around the bay leaf and mint. I grew the bay leaf from pot and transferred it to the garden in August so I will see how well it does during the winter. Outdoor seems to agree with it what do you think? Leave some comments and advice as to how best I can take care of her during the winter.

The mint is hardy and I know it will be fine during the winter months.

Say hi to my Fig tree which I grew from pot 2 1/2 years ago and I think I have another 18 months before it may bear fruit fresh Figs 😜 would be so nice.

I have to clean up around the Rosemary bush tomorrow if the weather permits I managed to pick some fresh rosemary to use in my products and cooking, fresh is the best!

I also trimmed the lawn as the grass seemed to be growing quite rapidly since the last time my cousin cut it in August. I must tell you that I did sneeze a lot when I was trimming the grass it was irritating but I solidered on so I only trimmed a small portion of my 100sq ft garden. I layered as you can see some more of the garden and I hope to have it all layered by next week. The process is going to be quite long as I prepare and nourish the garden with my exotic mulch and FPJ(fermented plant juice) which I made from the fresh leaves that were cut in August and my house plants love it.

I must say that I would not have dreamt of trimming my garden myself a few years ago, but since my diet change going vegan is really allowing me to deal with my allergies from a cellular level and I'm loving my freedom and my connection with mama earth. I was a bit nervous of the snails that started popping up to say hi and eat the freshly cut vegetation lol but this is a milestone for me.

Further layering of the garden to inhibit the growth of weeds and unwanted plants, to go on and nourish the land that's the aim.
