New patch 2.4.0 comes to Fortnite, bringing miniguns to Battle Royale

As Epic announced recently, the new Patch 2.4.0 will be released shortly, which brings various bug fixes and a new weapon in the Battle Royale mode of Fortnite : The Minigun! What's in the new update?

Epic had some problems in Fortnite last week. A scheduled update resulted in longer maintenance, followed by log-in issues and team-finding difficulties.

As Epic announced in the meantime, all Fortnite players are compensated because of the longer downtime. For example, Battle Royale players are given two levels in the Battle Pass, while the Save-the-World mode allows 1,600 seasonal gold to be spent in the Event Store.

As Epic announces now, the new patch 2.4.0 on 01.02. go live and include various bug fixes. But that's not all: A new weapon is available for the Battle Royale mode on top of it, PvE players, however, can now also warm up and heal the crackling campfire!

Bug fixes in all areas of Battle Royale mode

Be it the performance, the graphics, the gameplay - Epic delivers with the patch 2.4.0 various improvements. For example, the selection of doors no longer displays the complete frames.

Even the annoying, flickering aberrations (popping artifacts in the landscape) should, according to Epic at least be fixed at the view from the battleship out.

In the weapons, the frequency of silenced pistols was reduced. Epic has noticed that these are increasingly preferred to assault rifles and therefore reduce the find rate:

The epic variant can now be found 20% less frequently.
The legendary variant can now be found 33% less frequently.
In addition, from 01.02. a completely new weapon can be found: the minigun. The minigun is likely to be the preferred means to raze enemy fortresses from this date. The weapon destroys dwellings at lightning speed, but is less suitable for mobile targets than other players.

The minigun will appear unusual in the rarity (green) - so be relatively common.

The PvE mode gets the crackling campfire!

In addition to the crackling campfire known from Battle Royale mode, which continuously heals allies within 3 × 3 tiles, PvE players also receive new expeditions:

Collect allegiance: An expedition with low requirements, through which you can gather a small following of followers.
Fall Tours: These expeditions give you traps.
