Bubble Bobble is a weird game. In it, you play as either Bub or Bob (I'm not sure which is which) trying to trap enemies in bubbles and pop those bubbles to turn them into fruit. As for its gameplay structure, it seems to have a hard time deciding whether it wanted to be more of an arcade-esque game, or a console adventure. Its levels are simple enough to fit onto a single screen, like an arcade game, but when you get a game over, it gives you a password system for you to continue your adventure where you left off, like most NES platformers. On the note of its levels, they seem to be made without the gameplay in mind, like they were solely made to look cool. This does not translate into the gameplay being very enjoyable. Overall, if you have not played this game, do not go out of your way to give it a try. It is not worth it.
